#WallowFire Richard Torres update from Reserve

#WallowFire Richard Torres update from Reserve
  • Catron County Volunteer Fire Departments in Reserve and Apache Creek have sent personnel and equipment to Luna for support operations. A quick attack fire vehicle has been dispatched to Reserve Airport for support operations there, too.  This additional support is precautionary only as there is still no verification that the Wallow Fire has actually crossed into New Mexico.
  • New Mexico Department of Homeland Security and Emergency has set up an Emergency Operations Center (E.O.C.) at Reserve High School. The purpose is to run/operate all command operations in the field.

  • Lead Information Officer Trish Hogervorst and her staff (below): L-R: Shannon O'Brien, Stan Hinatsu, Trish Hogervorst , and Sean Johnson. They are all Public Information Officers.  They are currently transitioning with the Arizona Type 1 Team. This transition should be  completed by today. The Luna area, and other areas, of the Wallow Fire will now be considered Zone II.

  • Information boards will be established in Reserve, Luna, Quemado, and Rancho Grande. The purpose is to post updates as they happen. Exact locations will be finalized soon.
  • If necessary, the P.I.O. will visit residents to provide updates.
  • On Friday, June 10, 5:30 pm at the Reserve Community Center, there is a scheduled seminar on Emergency Prepareness/Food Storage. Free to the public, information to be given on how to prepare for different type of emergencies.
