[Blogmaster note:  Because I have received so many requests for at least the maps, I will start posting them again as I am able, however unless there is some major change with the fire, I will only post the morning's IR map and bare-bones info from the flight log.]
Total acreage as of 12:36 a.m. 06/16/11:  487,016
New acreage since last flyover: 8,566

From flight log:
  • There was quite a bit of intense heat on the east side from the burnout down to Hwy 180. The fire front had almost met the burnout front. No heat was detected on the southeast side of the burnout lines. The previous burnout along rd 220 was cool. The southeast side continues to show intense heat with southward movement toward the Blue River.
  • There was intense heat on the southwest side along Warren Canyon. There were quite a few small areas of perimeter with intense heat in the upper basin near Dogwood Spring that looked like a burnout that had not taken yet.
  • There were some scttered heat areas remaining on the west side of the fire. Most were well away from the perimeter.
  •  There were also pockets of scattered heat on the north end of the fire, mostly in the Little Colorado River Valley and Water Canyon.
