The winds were bad today.  There was a lot of smoke today as well.  I drove from Luna to Alpine to observe the fire.  There are some areas where there are just black sticks instead of trees, but everywhere along 180 the crews were very busy.  There are quite a few crews and trucks, using a lot of foam to knock out the stuff that was burning low.  Didn't appear to be any crowning - what I was seeing could have been back burn.

Luna is still on pre-evacuation; even though there is a lot of smoke there is no imminent fire risk for Luna.  US 180 is still closed to the public.
