Bill Aymar:
The evacuation order for Luna was lifted around midnight last night, fire behavior in the Blue is still a possible threat, but current analysis seems to indicate it may not be posing the threat it has for the last week. Folks still need to be aware, and pay attention to fire activity and crews moving about in the area.
There is a new team moving into Reserve, replacing the Northwest Team - that process will continue through the day and may complicate (slightly) communications but we should be able to make the transition quickly.
We are beginning the paperwork for payments related to this fire and are probably looking at about 9 months of working through all the associated requests, payments, forms, etc.
Elizabeth Driggers, of Senator Udall's staff, visited the ICT (fire camp) and visited with the outgoing team Incident Commander. While rumors flew about a possible visit by Senators Udall and Bingaman, these were unfounded, though Senator Bingaman has tentatively scheduled a visit for early July.
