Significant Events: Transition occurred this morning at 0600hrs from Reinarz Type 1 Team to Walkers Type 2 Team. Crews are continuing to secure fire lines ahead of strong winds forecast for tomorrows shift, these winds will be similar in strength to the winds of May 29th with the possibility of reaching even higher wind speeds.
Remarks: Major concern is the high winds forecast for tomorrow. Incident will continue with the demobilization of excess resources that are timing out as well as supporting other incidents within the region.
Observed Fire Behavior: Minimal fire activity was observed in zone one today with only isolated single and group tree torching and short runs. Scattered areas along the edge of the fire continue to smoulder.
Planned Actions: Crews will continue to mop up and securing firelines while continuing to provide for point source protection as needed. Additionally fire crews will work to remove hazard trees along the fires edge, communities, roads and infrastructure. Rehab planning and work will continue.

Significant Events: Fire was very active on the south end of Zone 3 in Branch 12 where the remainder of the firing operations will take place when the weather conditions allow. Crews continue to keep the fire from crossing Hwy 191 into Zone 2. In Branches 10 and 11 Rehab of dozer line and handlines continued along with the chipping of slash created by improving containment lines. Patrol and mop-up of Divisions A, B, C and D continued. All structure protection equipment within the Sunrise Ski Area was removed in anticipation of the re-opening of the area to the public on Monday morning 6/20/11.
Remarks: Current wind event is creating conditions of high resistance to control and challenging the successful completion of the planned firing operations.
Observed Fire Behavior: Fire was actively backing in Zone 12 on the south end of the fire through pine stringers and making uphill runs aligning with the available fuels, wind and slope producing spot fires and exhibiting extreme fire behavior. 2-3' flame lengths with the backing fire into the wind was observed. Elsewhere on the Zone the fire was creeping and smouldering with isolated single tree and group tree toching.
Planned Actions: Crews will continue to bring the fire southward to the indirect lines in Branch 12 and conduct firing operations as needed to prevent the main body of fire from escaping indirect containment lines and moving into Zone 2 across Hwy 191. The remainder of the crews in Zone 3 will continue to perform rehab of dozer lines and handlines, chipping operations and mop-up and patrol in Branches 10 and 11.
