- We now have assets for communications from the NM Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security. This is a big communications trailer that is outfitted with phones, computer stations, big screens and conference rooms. Governor Martinez made it available to us and it is now set up in Reserve at the High School.
- In Luna we have calm winds. This causes the smoke to lay low in the valley. We have no news that the fire is yet in New Mexico but we are fully prepared to act, and fire crews are constantly preparing fire breaks in preparation.
- We probably will have a small National Guard presence in Escudilla Bonita Subdivision to make sure all is OK there and provide security. This will free our County Sheriff’s Department personnel to work elsewhere.
