Bill Aymar reports:
A challenging day - wind speeds were very high and pushed fire over US 180 and into the hills above the gas station at Luna - then north as far as Corwin Hulsey's and beyond. Bill Knight Gap Road was set as the hold point but the winds caused a fair amount of spotting so fire crews had quite a lot to deal with. I did get an opportunity to go visit with some of the folks out north of Luna, many of whom have done a great job of preparing their homes for just such an event as this.
The emphasis would seem to shift to a little more attention to the Blue River area and the possibility of the fire approaching from the South. I'll try to get as much information about that issue as I can tomorrow. The volunteer firefighters have been doing a great job of assisting the Incident Team in prepping and assisting in structure protection in the Luna area.
