- Power is out in Reserve at this time.
- Governor Martinez is due shortly. There is a large law enforcement present sites where she'll be going.
- A burn out (preventative fire break) is being planned for the East and Northeast flank of the fire, from the eastern top corner of the fire to just past Luna. ONLY IF CONDITIONS are OK will this burn out be started Friday evening (tonight, 06/10/11). IF THE BURN OUT OCCURS there will be increased smoke; people are being advised of this now so that they will be aware. The fire team WILL NOT KNOW until this evening whether the burn out will go ahead.
- Burnout preparation is going on now using bulldozers and hand crews.
Reserve area:
- PLEASE CONSERVE ENERGY as much as possible. Power from the grid is down in the Reserve area at this time and the county generator is the main power source. This generator is powering from Luna east through Reserve, and from Pleasanton in the south north to Fox Mt area. It is unknown if the generator is powering Cruzville, Apache Creek and Aragon. The 2MW generator is very powerful but it is still just one generator, so please conserve your use of energy. [Blogmaster note: It's probably a good idea to be conserving at all times during this fire crisis, since electricity users in that area may not be able to tell the difference between power supply sources - just assume it's the generator and conserve power.]
- Please conserve water also. The Village of Reserve has just one well and the water storage tanks are filled by that one well, so the well is being constantly pumped with no break. The Village of Reserve has issued a proclamation: No watering between 9am-9pm, do not use automatic sprinklers, use hand watering for higher water conservation. The full proclamation, which was issued yesterday morning, is available to read at the village hall.
