#WallowFire Morning update 06/10/11 9:18

  • Last night's IR flight information is delayed but will be available as soon as possible
  • The actual fire size is not that much increased overnight and numbers have not changed much from yesterday.  Due to technical issues with IR mapping, the total acreage of the fire is actually less than was reported  2 days ago - our last information is that the fire is 386,453 acres at this time.
  • Greer:  No update from last report of 22 homes lost, 5 damaged, 24 non-residence buildings, 1 truck.
  • Alpine/Nutrioso:  Number of structures lost still in single digits
  • TalWiWi area still doing burn outs to protect that area
  • Significant efforts on east side of the fire  to protect Luna in case winds pick up.   Fire has not crossed the state line.
  • Every effort is being made to protect all communities.  Containment south of Eagar has been very successful.  Efforts to area today south and to west of Eagar.
  • NO information on potential return of evacuees.
