- Fire acreage is over 311,000. Luna is socked in with smoke right now because there is only a slight breeze and the smoke is just sitting here in the valley. Once the wind picks up we will engage the planning we have in place based on wind direction.
- There will be 3 Type 1 teams on the fire shortly (one an area command), plus the Type 2 team already here. We are expecting our NM Type 1 team before Thursday. We probably have more firefighters on this fire than anywhere else in the country.
- Fire has moved over the top of Escudilla Mountain, and we can expect it to continue to progress towards Escudilla Bonita and Coyote Creek subdivisions, however we have our task force already in place there for structure protection.
