#WallowFire R. Torres evening report from Luna 06/12/11

#WallowFire R. Torres evening report from Luna 06/12/11

Reserve, Luna, and Apache Creek Volunteer Fire Departments have been assisting Operations in Luna. Our responsibility was to maintain water levels in portable bladders placed in vital areas surrounding Luna. Each bladder holds approx.1,200 gals, with one bladder holding approximately 1,800 gals. Most bladders had hose lines stretched to support fire suppression if necessary. Some bladders had pumps to maintain pressure on more than one hose lay. Forest Service personnel would access water as needed.

Maintaining this system are volunteers from your community, and they deserve a hearty thank you for their service. In addition, volunteer members of the Luna community are staffing the firehouse to facilitate fire operation  updates, provide meals for fire crews, and provide logistics assistance
