The memorial for Gale Moore is set for 11 a.m. at the Glenwood Park on Saturday October 11, 2014.

The Copper and Frisco Cowbelles will provide the meat for the luncheon. Side dishes and desserts will be pot luck.  Dutch oven cooked dishes are encouraged.

If people would like to make a donation, a scholarship fund was established in Gale's name.  Please send checks to:

Gale Moore Celebration of Life date set

Beth Menczer of Glenwood reports that the memorial "Celebration of Life" for Gale Moore has been set for Saturday, October 11, at the Glenwood Park, probably at 11 a.m. although the time is subject to change. There will be a meal.

Final Glenwood Gazette printed edtion in September

Dear Glenwood Gazette readers and friends of Gale Moore from Mary Alice Murphy (editor, Grant County Beat)

Several of us are going to try to put together as final Glenwood Gazette print version. We are seeking rural and western article submissions, photos, and recipes. We plan also to have a calendar of upcoming events in late September and into October. Ads are also more than welcome for the usual rates.

The primary focus of this issue will be your memories of Gale. You can write essays, articles, and/or poems, and we would love to have photos of Gale.

Submission deadline is a firm Sept. 10, by email mabm@grantcountybeat.com.  We we will try to get the issue out by the end of September.

Gale Moore "Celebration of Life"

I spoke with Gale's cousin, Sharon, this morning and she told me that there will be a "Celebration of Life" for Gale in Glenwood in the near future. Sharon doesn't know the date/location yet, but when I find out I'll let you all know.

Services for Gale Moore to be announced

We're told that WNMU's Fine Arts Center has been offered to Gale's family for services and that Gale will taken care of through Bright Funeral Home.

Date and time for services will be announced here when that information is available.

RIP Gale Moore

It is with heavy heart that I have to confirm the death of Glenwood Gazette's Gale Moore.

Gale was the heart and soul of the Gazette and of Forever Frontier: founder, owner, publisher, editor, photographer, reporter, layout person, advertising department, collections department, delivery person and general grunt.

She will be sorely missed.

08/09/14  The website and archives will stay up for the time being.  I will hopefully be talking with Gale's family next week.  Soon as I have any confirmed info about the future of the Gazette I'll post it on the website, the blog and the Gazette's Facebook page. ~Lif Strand, webmaster
